The Renegade System, Magnetic Sponsoring Online?  Each of these network marketing system are designed to pay you as you generate leads to grow your business.  But how do you know if they are any good OR if they are right for your business?  Here are 5 questions to ask yourself (or the creators of these systems) before you pull out the credit card.

Question #1

Has the leader been educated in marketing from sources OUTSIDE of the network marketing industry?

This is particularly important.

The sad truth is, most MLM distributors have absolutely NO experience in marketing.  On top of that, the old standby strategies of bringing friends and family to meetings is ineffective for many newbies.

So when looking for a good network marketing system follow someone who has thought outside the box, and whose marketing ideas are in keeping with the way businesses operate today.

Question #2

Can the leader provide a list of REAL people who will testify to the effectiveness of their network marketing system? 

You want to see that their system is working for other people just like YOU. 

In other words, ASK FOR VERIFIABE TESTIMONIALS.

Question #3

Will the leader provide numbers/statistics that show how effective their system is? 

I’ve seen folks go as far as posting copies of their commission checks to prove their results.

I’m not saying they need to go that far to proven their system’s effectiveness, BUT they should be able to give you simple statistics.  Like the percentage of people who are turning a profit using their network marketing system. Or, what the average number of distributors sponsored is for their system users.

Question #4

Is the leader claiming to build your business for you? 

This is an automatic red flag for me.  Most network marketing companies forbid this kind of behavior and for good reason. 

This is YOUR business. Not your upline’s.  Therefore, YOU are the only one that can build it.

Question#5

How much is it? 

Are they charging you an arm and a leg for their network marketing system? 

The fact is, this person is selling you information.

Information that they will typically use to prospect you into their own MLM business. 

There is nothing wrong with that. But it also means that they benefit most by getting the information in your hands.  If they charge too much, how many people will buy it?

My rule of thumb?  $50 to $100 is my absolute max to pay for a marketing system.  Plus, I would want access to additional training and income generating options for that amount of money.

Remember that your network marketing system is the engine that fuels your business.  Without one OR with an ineffective one your business will go NOWHERE. 

Finding or creating a good system will help you achieve your network marketing goals faster than your competitors could imagine.

Why do boys buy flash cars? To get girls of course. There is a network marketing lesson here. Now you and I know that they are trying to get the girls to like them. Not the car. They don’t want the girls sleeping in the garage with the car. They want the girls inside with them.
What do the girls want? They want a man who is going to love them. They want a relationship that prospers. If he is insecure and focuses on the car as in Shania Twain’s song, ‘I can’t believe you kiss your car good night, Come on baby tell me, you must be jokin’, right? Okay, so you’ve got a car, that don’t impress me much’, – the girl is not going to hang around just to be with the car. Right? That is, unless she is immature and figures that ‘any love is better than no love at all’.
The way it could be. The girls are attracted to you – you have a magnetic personality – whether you have a car or not. You have no need to hide behind a car. You have your pick of a great many relationships.
Apply this to MLM. Why do people flash their company about? You do this to get leads. Someone to talk to about your whizz-bang network marketing opportunity. You flash your ‘junior achiever’ pin and tell them how the company is debt free and the president is a great guy.
That don’t impress them much and it turns the attention away from you. You really want these people to join you. You want them to treat you like a leader.
What are prospects looking for? These people are looking for someone who will be their friend and show them how to do the business without compromising their integrity. They want a relationship that prospers.
If you are insecure and focus on the company, they will lose interest and fade away. It is called attrition. Some will hang around hoping. ‘It is better to have a bad business than to have no business at all.’ They will take up your time and resent your lack of leadership.
The way it should be. People are attracted to you – you understand magnetic sponsoring – whether you have a home business or not. Well. Yes you do have a top home business opportunity but you don’t talk about it all the time. People seek your advice and experience and you share it freely.
They may be in another company right now but as most network marketing companies fail, or fail to deliver, they will be looking again soon enough.
And you will still be there.

Everyone in the MLM world knows that this industry is built on systems. You will always hear a sponsor tell a newbie just plug into the system and you will have results. I want to challenge that. Looking at the statistics that over 97% of people in MLM fail I would say something is terribly wrong with the so called system. So what does a real network marketing system look like? I will let you in on a secret. Not even the top MLM companies know. Don’t worry I will share it with you because I’ve been in your shoes before.

The acronym commonly used for system is save yourself time energy and money. That is a joke in network marketing. Reason being is because plugging into this type of system is time consuming, filled with rejection, worrisome, stressful, and not fun at all. I plugged away for years and have nothing to show for it but hard lessons learned. All that changed for me when I went to the internet in search of a better way like yourself. I came across book that explained how a real network marketing system is supposed to work. It is called Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard which I highly recommend you read. It was a complete paradigm shift for me.

Briefly I will go over the features and benefits of having a network marketing system in place that actually works. This will skyrocket your MLM business if you learn and take action.

Sorts

It will sort out the studs and duds for you. You only have 24 hours in a day. If your goal is to get 10 names and numbers a day then you may have to talk to 20 people. After you’ve face rejection all day and you call up the 20 maybe only 2-3 are serious. That is time wasted. However if you have a network marketing system that you can send people through you don’t have to go through this roller coaster of emotions. Your goal is to drive laser targeted traffic to your system and generate as many MLM leads as possible. The system will do the sorting of who is for real and who is fake for you.

Explains

Have you ever did a presentation before or explain how the business works and people kept asking questions? Ask yourself how many presentations can you do in a day? You can probably count your answers one 1 hand, 2 if you are good. That is not working smart. But if you have a network marketing system on the internet it can do countless presentations for you. Not only that but it will do all the explaining. So now you have more time freedom do what you want.

Sells

Do you like feeling like a used car salesman after doing one of those rah rah hotel or home meetings? The pressure is on you to close the sale that night. But most people don’t jump at the first pitch. It takes most people seeing something 6-7 times before they buy. If you own a network marketing system online it will do all the selling for you BUT in a way that educates. If you can educate someone through the sales process and stay in front of them eventually they will buy on their own timing. That is fine because you are cranking through as many MLM leads as possible so you can get quality team members on the other side.

Hopefully you can see the benefit now of having a real system that works. Do yourself a favor and ditch what you have been taught and learn how to market online. This is what it is all about. Once you learn how to market online and generate your very own MLM leads you can right your own check. You do need guidance though and not everyone is qualified to do that. Everyone and his brother is claiming to be an ‘expert’ and whichever internet route I meandered through to learn more about attraction marketing I just kept coming up against ‘conspiracy theories.’  We have the ‘The 7 great lies of network marketing’ and all of those ominous sounding google ad words adverts that go with these endless conspiracies. You know the ones.. all about your nasty upline and what he or she doesn’t want to tell you. Golly and those upline guys seemed so genuine in every other way…. Is it possible these people are living a wicked double MLM life?

I absolutely love the principles of attraction marketing but all of this hype saddens me and confuses the socks off all the newbies.  Not to leave it there though as the plot thickens. For those who can’t implement the ideas in Anne Sieg’s Renegade Marketer e book right off the bat, there is a next step… (Of course) Mike Klingler who seems like a pretty genuine and good guy to me, has come up with something called the ‘Renegade University’ which helps one learn how to implement the geeky stuff discussed in her book. It all looks pretty cool but of course what everyone seems to forget to mention is just how looooooooooooooooooooooong this stuff takes to implement. I was reading one of the mentor’s blogs and she wrote that it took her 6 weeks to set her site up. 6 weeks!!

If that’s not your cup of tea well you can always sign up with a secondary MLM as well, to ‘compliment it.’ That’s if you haven’t got your work cut out with the first one! Also don’t forget to check the company rules of your primary MLM because many don’t allow it, but the ‘online guru’ may forget to mention that as it would get in the way of income streams.

We have people in our industry whom reach the top level of the pay plan in 3 months. Is it just me or does the geek route sound like a recipe for showing someone how to get into the rat race?!! On paper, or on the screen, these systems of course always look really impressive with testimonials of guys sponsoring 10-50 reps a month. I’m not sure about you, but personally (i.e. personal enrolees…) I don’t think I could handle 50 reps signing up whom I have attracted to me because of my amazing IT and teaching skills. Of course I would always have to be on call as well. I have declared myself to be their saviour and superhero for all things they can’t understand or work out on their blog. (Lord help me – please don’t let it be a Word press or I’m stuffed! It’s all I can do to run my own.)  So that kind of messes with my 4 Hour Work Week mentality!! Sorry Tim. In this industry if we build it once and build it right, we’re promised walk away income and freedom to travel the world with 24/7 residual cheques while we sleep. I don’t recall signing up to be an IT support engineer do you? Or perhaps a Virtual Assistant would be more on the money. I would certainly need to get outsourcing ASAP!! (I didn’t want the hassle of employees though did I?)

I have ranted slightly on my blog about this before because it irritates me that these guys use negatives to draw people into their own names’ list. They use standard adverts and really have no idea what each company or sponsorship line is teaching, but lump them all together in one ‘old school’ pile.  I hear now they are under fire from the DSA for exactly this reason. If only they would go about implementing these new principles with more finesse that wouldn’t be necessary, but they seem to live and die by the philosophy that they are single-handedly saving the MLM world from the upline demons who don’t want to work on the internet all day, and insist on actually talking to people they know and trust about their business. Honestly whatever next?

The irony is that there are great principles and systems contained within both styles of marketing. To cut out the basics is like throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Likewise to say attraction marketing working doesn’t work is just plain silly. The guys who moan they ‘don’t know anyone’ when they do their warm list will be the equivalent of the guys who moan ‘I don’t know how to do all this IT stuff.’ The point being this is a challenging industry where we need to talk to people in one way or another. What concerns me is that many of the timid ‘I don’t know anyone’ people are hiding behind their computers, building websites and have been in the business with their new company (whilst their wicked sponsor calls them repeatedly, trying to work out why they haven’t exposed their exciting business to even one person yet) for months without getting into action. Meanwhile they are spending money faffing about learning social book marking and watching more gurus’ videos. By the time these poor folk work out how to generate a lead they’ll have lost heart and talked themselves out of their opportunity.

So what’s the secret? As one of my very successful and surprisingly truthful (!!) upline said, ‘there are no secrets when there is a pay plan this good as there is no benefit to stopping your people doing well.’

If you’re still sharpening your pencil, picking up that heavy phone and putting it down again (after giving it a quick polish) and in confused.com land… I recommend not reading every conspiracy report that comes your way. It is a basic principle of this industry that mindset is a key element to your success, and so therefore dwelling on what you don’t have cannot be a positive thing. The sensible and sane thing to do is to follow the basic plan from your successful sponsorship line which is active in the field today and (most companies don’t have one so don’t be confused by those glossy brochures) Your warm list may be of great value to you and the people on it need to be told what you’re doing and given an opportunity to review a 3rd party tool. (Note 3rd party tools deliver the business message instead of you begging, pleading and whining!) Then you can focus on meeting new people as you go about your life, and learning the very complex strategies needed for online attraction marketing. The point being that you are already in action, whilst you learn. If you’re not excited enough to whiz over a video link to a friend to let them know what you’re doing then maybe you should rethink your career path!

The 3 foot rule does not exist anymore except for MLM psychopaths… this is a relationship business and if you focus on expanding your network both on and offline you will be moving in the right direction to becoming a Professional Network Marketer. Social Networking has opened up a whole new world for those who want to build online but also to keep it simple.

If you want to advance beyond the basics then I favour Mike Dillard’s attraction materials because in a confusing world they are simple to obtain and easy to absorb. They are also very good value for money, and Mike spreads a positive message. The other day I received a great question from one of my network marketing friends. They wrote: “I am pretty new to Internet Network Marketing, actually less than two months. How do I build value when I don’t have an MLM downline yet?
